Public Policy Updates

  • SEC: U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Jay Clayton issued a public statement that the SEC will not change its June 30, 2020 deadline to implement the Regulation Best Interest rule and Form CRS. Chairman Clayton said that: “firms should continue to make good faith efforts around operational matters to ensure compliance by June 30, 2020, including devoting resources as necessary and available in light of the circumstances.” 

ADISA Launches Second Annual DDO Survey

This week, ADISA launched its second annual survey of due diligence officers at independent broker-dealers and RIAs regarding alternative investment product usage and sales predictions for the industry. The survey asks participants to take into consideration predicted effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on this year's activity. 

The results will be compiled by the end of April and released to all ADISA members when complete.
